: Paul reported that we have been getting about 12 check-ins for the ARCARS and Traders’ Net.Please remember to check into the weekly ARCARS Net at 8pm Tuesdays.
Also try to support other nets in the area.
NEWSLETTER:
The hard copy was mailed out last week and contained the minutes from the August and September meetings.CLUB STATION
:A discussion followed regarding antenna selection and placement on the tower. There has not been a final decision however, it seemed that a 144mhz dipole will be mounted on top, with a 440mhz and a 220mhz beam underneath. This topic will be further discussed at the November meeting.
OLD BUSINESS
:JOTA (Jamboree On The Air) will be attended this coming weekend by KB8GFY, KG8OU, KI8CL, N8EGJ, KB8OCG, Stephen Edwards, and Roy Roggenbuck. It was decided that we would set up the two stations up Saturday morning and dismantle them by dark. The Scouts will accommodate us with two cabins equipped with electricity and heat, as well as a couple of meals. We expect to set up at 8am on Saturday to be ready for visiting scouts and other visitors by 9:30. KG8OU and KI8CL are bringing complete HF stations and N8EGJ is bringing VHF as we stated in the last newsletter all members and non-affiliated amateurs are encouraged to come out and help introduce amateur radio to the scouts, and have some fun. We wish to thank Chris Haywood from the BSA for helping us with the accommodations.
NEW BUSINESS:
The Annual Election of officers was held and the following are the results: Mark Edwards (N8EGJ) is the Program Manager, Dennis Jackson is the Vice Program Manager, Gene Patrick (NA8I) is our Secretary, and Suzanne Pallet is our Treasurer. We also appointed Kip Dobel (KB8WWH) as our Public Relations Officer, and Edgar Spore as our Librarian and Equipment Manager.The ARCARS Emergency Communication Trailer has been moved to the parking lot at the southeast of the American Red Cross building with the other Red Cross Emergency Services vehicles and trailers.
