Packet Radio over Telnet
If you live too far away to connect to a DX Cluster by the means of
radio contact, or the path is too poor to reach a DX Cluster,
then using a telnet program on your computer with an internet
connection just my do the job for you....
The program that I have used for years on both Windows and Linux
is call Putty... I have used it in Windows 98se, Windows XP and
Ubuntu Linux and it has preformed perfectly... In Windows no
installation is necessary... You just run the file putty.exe...
You may want to add a shortcut to the file on your desktop...
There are many websites that have addresses listed for DX Cluster
as well as bulletin board and nodes that can be accesses through
your telnet program... When you get connected you will only need to
enter your callsign to login in most cases...
